Firefly Mail Importer is a privately operated, personal-use application. It is not offered as a service to other users.
Gmail data accessed
With the mailbox owner's authorization, the application uses the Gmail API with read-only permission to search for and retrieve transaction-related messages forwarded to a designated recipient address. Retrieved messages may contain sender details, transaction amounts, dates, merchants, and order or payment identifiers.
Purpose and use
The application interprets supported transaction messages and creates corresponding financial records in the operator's private Firefly III installation. It maintains local operational and deduplication records to avoid duplicate submissions and track processing outcomes.
Storage and sharing
Processing and operational records are maintained within systems controlled by the operator. Gmail data is not sold, used for advertising, or provided to data brokers. Transaction information is transmitted to the operator's Firefly III instance for the requested personal financial recordkeeping purpose. The application does not provide a public data-sharing service.
Access and control
Only the operator is intended to authorize and use the application. The operator can revoke Gmail access through Google Account security settings and can manage locally retained records on the systems hosting the importer and Firefly III.
Security
The application uses OAuth for Gmail authorization and requests read-only Gmail access. This public informational website does not collect Gmail messages or host the importer.
Changes
This policy may be updated if the application's handling of Gmail data changes. The updated policy will be published at this URL.
